Correct, it's a 230 or 250. You can find out for sure via the motor numbers, check here or on Inliners.org

The only difference between the 230 and 250 is the length of the stroke. The 230 has a 3.25 in. stroke compared to the 3.53 inch stroke of the 250. Hope this helps. The 250 has more bottom end torque than the 230. Only 10 hp difference. Both a real good reliable engines. Henry

Welcome to the stovebolt page. That looks like a good, clean install. I agree 230 or 250, probably 250 due to distributor. Check the stamped serial number for sure. In the picture of the right side there is a clear view directly behind the starter and I do not see a frame crossmember under the bellhousing. How is the rear of the engine/trans assembly mounted. There must be a crossmember under the tail of the trans. What trans does it have?
If you wanted to take some more pictures of your truck, engine, trans, mounting, etc. that would be cool. We all Love pictures!!
And, I have an interest in putting a 292 in my 50 Chevy and need some tech-help on the mounting. wink Thanks.

Hy 51chevyrider, that is a short tailshaft 350 automatic, I think and I would use a 75 and up Camaro, Chevelle, or Nova to order parts for the engine, hope that helps.
