My gauge was working fine up until about 3 weeks ago and went back down to empty. When I touch the sender wire to ground the gauge goes to empty. Also, my temp sender never moves past the cold spot. Are they somehow in the same circuit?
HELP!!!!!

Thanks, Steve in Idaho Your fuel sending unit should show 30 ohms resistance with the float in the full position and 0 ohms with it in the empty position using a multimeter. Connect the red lead to the wire lug and ground the black lead to the sending unit housing. Moving the float through the full range slowly should show a smooth reading change on the meter.
