1950 Chevrolet 3600 runs but needs a lot of tlc its an old farm truck 1966 Chevrolet C-10 3 on the tree, 250c.i. six runs and drives. Needs restore(possibly in the next two years)

(admins if you see this send me a pm) I cant figure out how to adjust the gap on the points, I know how to do it on my 1950 Chevy that has a 235c.i. in it, but the distributor is different. It has one screw in the points plate and when I loosen it to adjust the points gap the whole plate moves. Is this supposed to happen? help please! thanks in advance guys because I might not be able to log back on.

I got the truck to run right. I gapped all of the plugs and it still didnt run on all six. I let it run until it warmed up and began running on all six cylinders and it has been for the last couple of days. It sits up a lot and the rough running is probably the effect of sitting up. It has had about 3-4K put on it since the year of 2000.
