Classic Truck Magazine will be running a series of articles about upgrading their latest project, a 53 Chev half ton. What is interesting for us is that they plan to keep it basically stock including the 6 cylinder but will upgrade the tran, brakes and front axle, put in a later rear third member, and many things that we would consider doing to our trucks. Supposedly low budget work.

The issue currently out on the stands, which I think is December. It talks about the plan and shows the truck.

I read the article and it looks like it will be a neat project. I look forward to seeing what Rob does with it in future issues.

I am real curious on how low budget this will be. I thought the same thing when I started.

I just checked their website to see if there was any mention of it.. maybe thats what "Back to Basics
Keeping it Simple with a Stovebolt Survivor" is?

The story isn't on their website, so i'll have to check the rag out at the local newsstand.. sounds like it might be worth following.

I DID notice that their current issue is covering their build of a 100% aftermarket Fjord.. isn't that what most fiberglass "hot rods" are?

A fiberglass aftermarket cab sounds a little spooky.. but hey, it's halloween, so it's fitting!

an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.
