I have just started dismantling my new-old 53 Chevy 3100. Lots of rust but as I begin to strip paint and rust I am trying to determine what color the inner fenders, radiator shroud-hood latch support were painted at the factory.
It appears they were some type of black originally but I also wonder if the outer fenders were painted the body color inside as well. I'm sure this has been discussed before but a site search didn't answer it.

Thanks

Hi Dan firstly welcome to the 'bolt! thumbs_up

I'm not sure if your going the 'resto' route but I've had mine powder coated black.
I found traces of blue paint inside my front fenders, although that might just have been overspray. I'm painting the underside of mine black POR-15.
Hang tight, someone else will chime in with their opinions soon!

The inner fenders and radiator surround are supposed to be black.

Yes - they were actually a semi-gloss black. Just a little more shine than flat black.
