Well today's test drive went a bit better than yesterday's. No GMCs were hurt this time. It was a rather slow drive, since the throttle isn't hooked up to the petal. Carb was swapped and it needs some rigging to get the throttle linkage to work correctly. I found out a few things, the speedometer doesn't work, the heater core leaks, and gravity feed doesn't always work real great. I think I got about 3 miles in today just putting up the road in 1st or 2nd gear. I couldn't go any faster because the starter wouldn't turn over the motor fast enough in third to get it going. The clutch is still stuck. Definitely got some work ahead of me. Hopefully it warms up so I can really go to town on the old beast.

Picture under the hood. You can see my custom gas tank job wink

Front of the beast parked on the side of the road near my house.

Side profile. That evil dumpster incident yesterday didn't do too much to the poor thing.

Nice fuel tank. You have more capacity than I. Mine came off a lawn mower.

A '51, isn't it? I've got one too. Wish my sheet metal looked as good as yours!

David, a crummy cell phone camera works wonders on the body smile Truck is quite rusted on the inside of the cab.

Very nice truck dude. Being 13, it was fun taking my 70' GMC for a spin in the neighborhood without a way to change gears. Kinda freaked me out when my dad wasn't sitting next to me while he was moving his own car.The 350 auto tranny dropped all the fluid very quickly. It took some trial and error to get from reverse to drive while rolling backwards down the street. Guess I've got another project.
