Take a hard look at the 2 trans. & the length. Check with a local drive shaft shop. They can probably mate the one from the 4 speed to the back part of the 3 speed. Have you check out the 4 speed. Most of the GMC trucks used the NP trans. It can be identified by the aluminum top. The early ones back then were notorious for busted syncros. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though.
