i have the old ranco valve heater valve for my fresh air heater that needs to be rebuilt and cleaned. to clean it i was thinking of sticking it in my carb cleaner acid dip. does that sound like thats a good idea or will i disolve something in the process?

Any rubber seals inside? They'll disintegrate.

I don't know if dipping it is going to fix your problem, but for me it was a tough rebuild. Ended up having to buy another one and had it exchanged for a rebuilt. Another fine mess I got myself into. Cecil........
