so i got my pump apart on my 52 chevy what a mess full of gunk so i have a new diaphram so anybody know how the copper rod with the two round plats come apart to mount the diaphram seems to be peened on the end or treaded but it wont turn and dont want to brake it thanks for any help

well i destroyed the rod that hooked to the diaphram but was able to make one out of a treaded bolt the pump seems good .now to put it back on the truck with some good filters before the pump
