How do you set up the drive train on a straight axle small block conversion. classic performance says that the tail shaft of the transmission should be set at 4 degrees downward and the pinion angle at 2-3 degrees upward. Also how do I center the motor and find the corresct placement I guess all I can do is measure,measure measure. should I just use the bolt in mustang 2 crossmember with the engines mounts installed and use their transmission crossmember. i am doing a budget build. Then match your pinion angle to your transmission output shaft angle. So long as the engine oils its self properly it makes no difference what angle the engine sit at in relation to the ground or the truck frame (within reason). They key is matching the angle of the rear axle pinion to the engine/transmission. Grigg | | |
