Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 79 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 79 | I have a 46 chevy 3/4 ton chev that is in need of brakes, wheels cylinders, bearings and king pins. This truck was worked hard and put up wet. I have a line on a 59 1/2 ton straight axle with all good parts. I was wondering if anyone has done this swap and if it is a simple bolt on. Please advise. Also you would have a 6 lug front axle and an 8 lug rear. The 59 3/4 ton brake parts could be used to upgrade the Huck brakes to bendix brakes. You would have to grab the backing plates, cylinders, drums, and possibly the hubs to do the swap on your existing front axle. the 1/2 ton parts won't do you much good. If you have a 42 or earlier 3/4 ton, the lug pattern would be 6 on 5.5 just like the 1/2 tons. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | The '59 axle is also wider and the mounting pads are in different locations.

Is that true for the 3/4 ton? I don't care too much about mis-matched lug patterns. I can cover that with a hub cap. Thanks for the quick replies! | | |
