this on the bottom of my 50 seat frame. what is it for?

seat frame bottom.

That is part of the seat adjuster cable and pulley system the last year was your 1950, In 1951 the went to a rod from side to side to release the passenger side.

i don't understand how it works. does it work with the sliders? are the pulleys supposed to spin?

Yes, It works with the sliders the cable is anchored to the top half of the slider on both sides and the cable loops around the pulleys so when you pull one side forward the other side is also pulled forward. The adjustment for the cable tension is on the left hand (drivers) side. I will try and get some pictures for you on how they are routed.

i think i got it figured out!! i see were the sliders clamp onto those cables. i'm just missing the clamp on one side. i will still take those pictures if ya got em!!
