I feel like there may be some things missing from my engine can anyone tell what i may need aside from getting the rust off of there.

It was hard to see but as far as I could tell I don't see anything missing except the air cleaner, as Bill already mentioned. Take some photos in the daylight and we can take a better look.

It looks like you have something decent to start with. BTW, the floor start is original.

Thank you guys until I get some help lifting the hood off and moving it to the other side of the garage that's the best I can get because when open the hood blocks my lights

In an attempt to make myself sound like a bigger idiot does the air filter goes on top of the carb?

Yes, it does go on top of the carb. If you don't have one, it would be good to get a Shop Manual. That will be helpful in doing repairs. An Assembly Manual is also helpful in showing how your truck goes together. You can easily buy reprints of each, and the Shop Manual is available electronically.
