old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 19 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 19 | I need to know if the side rails are spot welded on and if so do new rails have to be? we're building a daily driver not a show truck. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 406 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 406 | Retired: Yes the side angles are spot welded originally, but replacements may be bolted or welded. Just remember they are an integral part of the bed assembly and connect the bedsides to the floor and cross sills, so angles must be securely attached. Check our instruction http://www.mar-k.com/37-53anglestrips.pdf for more information.
