I've tried the seach option, but couldnt come out with a definate answer. Hope im not beating a dead drum.

Im looking for some solid steelies that will bolt on to a '50 3600. The rims on the truck now are 17" split rims, which i think are illegal to have on passenger vehicles where i live. Even if they arent, i would have a hard time finding someone to mount new tires on em. Does anyone know of a factory 8-lug wheel that will work for me? I took the spare off of my '03 Duramax and tried it out. The bolt pattern is perfect, and it works out good on the rear. In the front the back spacing is different, and it hits the tie rod. Any help would be greaty appreciated.

I have some early 90's Dodge 1 ton van wheels. They are 16x6 they just clear the front tie rods on my '52 3600. Photo

Your 17's should be perfectly legal.

Do you know if the Van rims and the Truck rims are the same? I'de guess 3/4ton and 1 ton would be.

I wouldn't bet they are all the same. Some have 6 1/2" wide rims and the ones I checked had too much back space. Also check Ford and GM vans. Some guys find some that are close and just use a small wheel spacer to get them out away from the tie rod.
