I have a 1936 Chevy truck and I have a friend that has a 1937 and a 1938, he is going to build the 1938 so he don't need the 1937 frame I don't have a frame for my truck, SO would the 1937 frame work under my 1936 truck ? Thanks all

Is yours a tall cab or short cab like the '37? I think that would make a difference. Joe

They made a midyear change in 36 like in 55. The high cab was like the 35 & the low cab was like a 37. I dont know how to tell the difference off hand but some of the fellow bolters will jump in. My partner & I are restoring his 36 low cab fuel truck.

I talked to my partner on this. The interchange book shows 36 by itself. 37 & 38 are the same. That is 1/2 ton trucks. The high cab has 3 door hinges & the low cab has 2.

Both trucks have a 112 inch wheelbase so there is a chance that the 37 frame might work for a 36.

Let me help here.

I own a 34 and 35 which are called High cabs and they offically went to mid 36 but, at the same time the 36 Low cab came out.

One way to tell the diff. Other than the overall design is this.

The cab from 34-36 High cab. : The cowel,A pillars,Roof and Rear/Back of the cab are in many Parts.

The 36 Low cab Cowel to the roof to the rear of the cab are all On Solid piece. and is just a little shorter.

There is very little wood in the 36 Low Cab and Do Not Use the doors for an example. The High Cab Doors lost all their wood and became Metal. So, Only refer to the wood.

Now, If you Figure you Do Have the High Cab.

You Can Use the 35/36 Chassis. the late to 36 chassis has hydrolic brakes and will fit your truck.

I hope this helps...
