The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop Paint color........Finally!

Hi guys.....I've been searching for ages trying to decide on a color for my 'bolt.

I've always wanted it to be a dark blue metallic/pearl.

Most I've seen appear purplish? in sunlight.

Long story short...I saw this color in a local Mercedes dealer the other day and fell in love.It's called Mystic blue pearl

I just wanted your opinions. Whatdya think?

Very nice color. I'm taking a guess here, but I bet the paint will be really, really expensive.

Jock, I love the blues. I almost went blue on my panel but decided to go a little wild But my 37 is blue!
I like the tone of that blue. It looks rich and deep. Go for it just remember we like pics. Man, I bet that will look

Alvin, I bought a couple of rattle cans to do the less visible parts of the cab,like the lower parts of the firewall and behind the engine.
This will let me get the cab on and not have the hassle of trying to paint behind the engine etc.
Being such a dark blue I only hope my body guys can get the truck as straight as your panel!
Thankfully the 'old gal' isn't too beat up!
My main concern is the hood.....some 'knuckle dragger' stood on it! :mad:

Looks pretty close to my colour. We started with a GM blue, added a little pearl and metallic. Post some pics of the finished product !

GM do a very similar colour, Ming Blue Pearl Metallic.
I prefer the Merc colour as it seems to have more blue to it.
Plus it's off the shelf.
I didn't want to get involved with 'paint alchemy!'

Be patient! The final paint job's a little way off yet!
