I have a 56 chevy with a broke axle. It is the original 10 bolt rear end. Can someone tell me where to get parts for it. I need the one axle, seals and bearings.

Any parts truck from the 50s and maybe earlier will work. Make sure you get the one from the same side. They are different lengths on the other side.

The seals & bearings can be purchased new at any parts store. They may not be in stock but they get shipments every day from the warehouse. Post an ad on the parts wanted. I,m shure many stovebolters have some old rear ends around.

Too bad you are not nearby as I have 9 axle shafts for that era. What you have to look for is wear at the point the seal sits on the shaft as if worn it will leak. As for seals there are two tmanufacturers, one is Chicago Rawhide C/R and the other is National. One is really much beefier than the other (I think it is National) and a better choice.
