Hi guys,my wife bought me an am/fm radio for my 57 1/2 ton.It fits into the original opening in the dash, did'nt want to cut the dash up.Any way i have 2 10" speakers in the cab corners behind me and i would like to put 2 more where the vents are in front. That means i block the air flow.Good idea, bad idea your thoughts please.

Good idea for a custom cab with air conditioning, bad idea for a stock cab especially when that extra airflow counts on a hot summer day. You'd regret it.

I wouldn't want to disrupt the airflow through the cab.

I think it could lead to condensation problems on humid or rainy days.

Ain't nuthin' worse than a damp interior! dang

I'm with the rest, bad idea. There are better solutions, though. 1 would be to use the speakers that mount in the factory location above the inside rearveiw mirror. The speakers and the housing are available from many of the suppliers in the Links section. Those will require drilling into the inside cab roof (4 mounting holes and a wire access hole) and some tricky wire routing through the A pillars. Option 2 would be to get the kick panel speakers. Those include new kick panels (actually, the hinge access panels) that have a surface mount style speaker built into them. I'm not too familiar with the installation on these, as I went with the stock location style speakers.
