I have studied your photos for the three to five window conversion Got my 5 window cab donor truck yesterday.
I was able to get the entire cab in my Toyota Tacoma truck bed ! It was quite a site when I came down the street. I'm sure the neighbors that saw it were astonished. But then again they were probably not too surprised, knowing me. I will begin my modifications this week. My son, Matthew, is standing by with the mig. I'll post some pics when I get going on it.
Can't wait ! I would appreciate any words of encouragement (or caution). I just hate to take too much truck to do a job ! My son, Matthew (pictured here) and the previous owner helped me put it in the truck. Got a lot of stares along the fifty miles we had to travel. Can't wait to get started putting in the corner windows in my '51 using Wallybody's pics of the way he did it. Wish me luck ! I'll need it. (First time using pics. Too much rust in the floorboards and other places to justify changing out the cabs.
At first, I thought about chopping the pillars at the windshield area and cut along the beltline but decided that would not be a good idea. | | |
