I planned on getting Chevy Duty's crossmember and Langdon's motor mounts. I saw a thread on Chevy Duty which indicated a crossmember isn't necessary, even with a non torque-tube rear end? Is this possible? It sure would save me some trouble and a little bit of money, even though it doesn't make a lick of sense.

However, there is no stock bellhousing that will bolt to a 292 and the existing crossmember, so either you have to make custom mounts or replace the bellhousing crossmember with a '54 or '55 1st crossmember to support a V-8 or later six type bellhousing.
I think I'd order the Chevy Duty or someone else's crossmember...
