thanks its been a lot of work the body work is far from perfect
but i did it all myself the mechanics on the other hand are more my strong suit the engine is a 60 model 235 i added a hei from a 250 and langdons holly webber kit. it sure runs good i cant wait to drive it. the headlights and hood will go on this weekend then
i need to tie up the loose ends. philip

Pretty cool pictures. On my computer I had to open and back click but it was well worth looking. What did you paint the frame with? What about the sound deadening material? Is it a generic material from a parts store? My truck had a felt pad in it, but it was a moisture holder if you ask me. Does that dog in the picture play the harmonica?

the frame is painted with acrylic enamel the paint store put a paste in to make it semi gloss. i used the foil covered bubble wrap stuff from lowes to insulate the cab i also put the insulated firewall cover from jim carters. the fire wall cover is great
but a real bear to install. the blue heelers name is jake he runs things around here were just here to feed him. philip

That is a FINE looking truck!! I am working my 46 1.5 ton and wasnt sure were to find the tires and a motor to fit the truck. Any information you can pass along would be greatly appreciated. Hope you'll post a video of the the truck running and driving.

im going to buy two front tires for now. my local truck tractor tire dealer can get them. you can also order them from an oriental
company called simex but i at least want an American name on mine.
i put a 1960 235 in this truck i found it in a junk yard for 100.00
with the trans. it cost me 1700.00 to rebuild it with new pistons
bored crank ground head done and new cam. these motors arent that hard to find you just do not find them in the big salvage yards that deal in late models. you find them in junk yards or from someone that has one.

just curious on these big trucks, does someone make the hood, fenders, windows, etc, like they do for the smaller 1/2 ton trucks ?

i think the hood and windows are the same as the 1/2 ton tho only real difference in the cab is the fenders and running boards.
the cab is not bigger it just sits on a higher chassis.
