Hi New to forums, Looking to install a 350 chevy into my 1950 3100 truck, I have not been able to locate any info on what type of headers or exhaust manifolds to use. Can anyone HELP

Are you using the factory steering box? If so, the box will need shimmed out to use anything but 55 or 56 265 V8 car left manifold. These are easy to find at swap meets and probably on ebay. The 265 manifold WILL clear but barely. I like to grind a 1/16" off the corner of the gear box right by the bolt head and a tad off the manifold so it has a full 1/8" clearance. The 265 manifold is a flat log type with a 2 bolt exhaust pipe flange that uses a flat gasket and is not something you want for big horsepower. Fine for everyday street driving.

The ol' guy who helped me stuff the 350 into my '56 recommended what he called "old corvette manifolds". Here's what they look like, Just stock manifolds that both sides exit in the center sloping aft. Ed

The ram horn manifolds wont work on the 54 on back. They were not designed for v-8s.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
