I remember a few previous posts...are you going to tag the alternator output into the existing BATT feed to/through your stock ammeter?
If you do, follow Bill's advice and make that new wire 10 gauge from alternator output to ammeter.

My stock alt only puts out about 35-40 amps, I put a 30 amp fuse on it two years ago, haven't had to replace it yet......except for the time I put the amp meter back in with the batt cable on. I like fuses, as long as I keep extras. It only takes once to burn one down
