I have a 1946 1/2 ton that I want to do the usual open driveline, V8, IFS thing and will be using 15' Corvette Rally wheels.
Sticking a subframe in there will probably be the most cost effective way to accomplish this.
I have read differing opinions on the '79-ish Camaro subframe swap, most folks stating that it is wide and that a GM G body (80's Olds Cutlass, Buick Regal, Chevy Monte Carlo - ?) might be the answer (at least for AD series trucks).
Is this also the case for the 42-46? How different are the frames between the Art Deco series and the Advance Design series?
Also I may have the opportunity to grab an S10 frame from under a mail truck. Could I just graft the front of that onto my '46 frame? My understanding is that the rear of the mail truck frame is different from a S10 but the front is the same. If anyone knows the facts on this it would be great.
The truck is at a welder's shop - he will be doing the work as I don't have a place.

The rear end is shorter but the one out of a s-15 blazer is the same. If you are going to put big tires under it you won't care about the 4" in over all width. The front is more narrow also but that can be corrected with billet wheel spacer, not too expensive.
