anyone know where i can find a gas filter housing, the screw on type as original,for my 67 c-40. i found the cartridge at napa but no luck on the metal housing,carquest couldn't help either mine developed a small pinhole

You could repair it, just get a thing of JB-Quik and put it on. Let it cure and you should be good to go, no different than using JB-Weld on a gas tank, right?

Hey jdl, I've never used JB Weld before. I've got a fuel leak where the filler tube goes into the tank. Anything special I should know before using JB Weld there?

Not that I know of, I used it on my old tank that turned out to be worthless anyway and it held up fine way down on the bottom so... It is supposed to be ideal for doing this kind of thing, and it's just about the cheapest thing you can do. My brother just fixed a leak in his tank too with it. Oh, if you're in a hurry and don't have the time to wait for it to dry the whole day or two, you can pay a little more(couple dollars) for JB Quick, and it sets up in a matter of minutes and is ready to be used in probably an hour or two. Just follow the directions and it works as it says.
