i have an aluminum fuel cell with a -8an male fitting on the fuel pickup. i also have a Fram HPGC-1 canister type fuel filter it has female 3/8 npt fittings. i need to connect the two.i really dont want to run braided steel lines.i want to use 3/8 steel hard lines.i found fittings at NAPA that are male 3/8 npt on one side and female 3/8 (tube ? with an inverted flare) to connect the fuel lines to the filter.i need a fitting 90deg that will let me go from female -8an to 3/8 line. i found something from Earls but they wanted like $31.00 for a single fitting and i would still have to use a couple more adapter fittings to get it where i could hook it up.any thoughts would be appreciated.........dave

So what do you really need?
Will a 90 degree male 3/8" NPT to female 1/2" tube (same as inverted flare) work to connect fuel filter to line from tank?
then to connect this 1/2" line to the tank use a tube sleeve and nut with a 37 degree single flare directly to the male -8 port on the tank?

Welcome to the fun of AN fittings. They just don't come cheap.

The tube sleeve and nut work just the same for any type of line with AN or JIC fittings. I used 3/8" stainless fuel line, stainless tube sleeves and nuts, and steel JIC type fittings, which for all intents and purposes are the same as AN, only made of steel and often cheaper.

If you can fit a nice 90 degree bend in the tube that should work great? If not then you'll need an adapter with a tight 90 degree bend, let me know and I'll look up one that may work.

Looks like, from the tank, you can go Parker C6X to your steel line using a BTX nut and TX sleeve. At the filter end, you would go with an FTX and another BTX / TX combo. All -6. Except that I forgot the 8-6 TRTXN to go between the tank and the C6X. It is a -8 ( 1/2") to -6 (3/8") reducer.

Less than the local parker dealer

Dave, if you dont see what you need, call them. As far as race shops go, Pegasus has the best customer service that I ever ran into. Also, if needed check out their brake pluming. That is where I go for stainless braided.

Well, originally Dave said he wanted to go steel tubing. Since he now wants to go with hose, that would be the better way! Tho' I have found Parker prices comparable. Must be my suppliers.

Here was my fun with Parker:

Just a Tip on AN fittings...Aero & Earls are very pricey check out Summitts own brand name AN fittings they run well under 1/2 the price of the above named brands and are I feel are just fine for the hobbiest,(summitt -8 90 $14.95 Earls $30+) now if ya was runnin Top Fuel ya may want the higher priced stuff.
