I've got a question. What is the stock 4 speed transmission that came in a 1967 C50? It's got a 292 and 2 speed rear. Was it the SM465? or SM420?

Thanks!

Which way is reverse? To the left or right? Left is SM420, right is SM465,

67 back used the SM420. 68 up used the SM465.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Thanks! I havn't seen the truck yet to know which way reverse is. I was going to crawl under it and look for either a big hump on the right hand side (SM420) or a PTO port cover (SM465). Your way sounds easier and less greasy.
