Anyone know how to remove the Steering wheel from the steering shaft without damaging the wheel? The steering wheel does not have bolt holes for a puller, any ideas? [email protected]

The holes that the horn wires go through are threaded. I made a small puller that works pretty good on my '37. The small holes are 10-32 thread or 10-24, I can't remember which right now. Have you check the tech tips, there is a home made puller in there that might also work. Mine is just a small piece of 1/4" x 1" about three inch long, flat steel with a threaded 3/8" hole in the center and two small holes to pull with. Make the steel plate long enough to go across the steering wheel center, then tighten the two small screws to pull the plate down snug. Use a 3/8" bolt to press on the center steering shaft. It will be plenty tight and once you get a little pressure on it, pop the bolt with a hammer and it might just pop off. Joe

Mike, this has been discussed a lot. There was a thread just a few days ago in General Truck Talk I believe. There are several ways to do it. If you do a search using "steering wheel" in the search box you'll find plenty of reading.
