has anyone used the p/s kit from CPP?
and does any other companys make a similar p/s kit for straight axle trucks?
would it be better to use one of the bolt on p/s boxes that will hook up to the drag link?
i dont want to lose my straight axle.

CPP has several listed. One uses a Saganaw gear box, one is a Toyota, the other uses a control valve and a ram. I have used the ram type which I did not like and have installed several Toyota conversions which are great. All of these kits are expensive and require modifications. Most of the aftermarket suppliers have the same kits. I didn't buy any of them from CPP.

I bought the cpp kit from Classic Parts of America for my 52. I got the basic kit, just the frame mount, hardware and steering arm and draglink. I bought a pump and box from the local u-pull-it yard for about $40 total. I also bought the pitman arm made for the conversion from Classic Parts. The basic kit was $95 and the pitman arm was $70. Classic Parts also gives 10% off to stovebolters. I didn't buy the complete kit because I have a inline 6 and the pump bracket included in the complete kit would be useless as they only work for a v8. I just designed my own brackets to mount the pump. It isn't a cheap conversion but it will be worth it.

Hey DL - welcome to the bolt.

I posed a similar question a while back. Here's the link .

This is what I plan on using when it comes time to upgrade. If you go this route let me know how it turns out. I'm very curious to know......

Good luck.
