I spoke to a Chevy service manager at a local dealer and he confirmed this. Since the oil just drains OVER the filter and not through it, using a roll of toilet paper works as good as buying an expensive wix filter, and maybe a bit better. At first I was concerned that the toilet paper would fall apart and clog my oil passages but that has not been the case. The roll stays perfectly in tact. So far so good. lol.....

The oil stays honey color.
I don“t think that you can use a tp roll in a usual filter canister. They have to be made for that.
My franz has a special roll holder (lol) and a screen to keep paper from getting sucket into the engine.
When I bought the 1959 235 the (first) oner said it has the filter since the first day. I noticed almost no wear when I opened the bearings.

MT -- You have no excuse. You know the rules because I've explained them, to you every other time you violated them. So don't push your luck or my patience. You are only allowed back on this site in a probationary status (You're welcome, by the way) and I do not appreciate my good nature and the effort we've put into creating this FREE website (with a seperate area for FREE CLASSIFIEDS) being willfully trashed. You want to be disrespectful and insulting? Go elsewhere.
I REALLY am tired of explaining this to you.
