Anytime I can make a little progress it's a bit of a victory. I finally got the instrument panel for my '63 C20 back together tonight. Check it out: Clean PanelI tore apart the panel and carefully scrubbed everything. I stripped and painted the bezel. I also replaced the speedometer for a working one. Now to finish getting the cab cleaned so I can reinstall this puppy

You did a beautiful job, it looks like new. What are the two small red indicators on the left and right of the speedo?

As for the red indicators, the one on the right of the speedometer is the over speed indicator and the one on the left is the tandem lock indicator. They are unused on my truck, of course, but there for the trucks that need 'em.

Any secrets to your success with your instrument panel rebuild?
NorthDM | | | | Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 321 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 321 | Thanks for the oomments. I certainly feel even better about how it turned out now. As to any secrets, I really don't have any. This instrument panel was in great shape to begin with, just filthy dirty and needing the speedometer replaced. All I did was take my time, be very careful when scrubbing, and didn't rush the painting of the bezel. These panels are great to work on since they come apart so easily. I didn't have any major snags, so I was pretty lucky in that respect.
