Been runnin the truck every couple of days (whenever i can!) and he runs great. The smoke has almost completely diminished, it tends to have weird little spurts of it, but even when it does smoke for a little bit, it's NOTHING like at first. It's obviously blue oily smoke, although it smells more like gas. But see through and almost unnoticeable nonetheless. I've got three questions.
1.Can i get a ballpark guess on the average time it takes for new rings to seat completely?
2. I have to replace the oil pan gasket and therefore change the oil anyway, but is there a possibility its thin from gas getting in it right when we first started running it (maybe causing some of the early on problems)?
3.Is it ok to use that stuff at auto parts stores that says it helps rings seal. I forgot who makes it, but there's also another supplement made by Bar Leak's called Smoke Away or something, supposed to put it in your oil. I dunno, seemed like a good thing to do, just checkin to see what yall recommend.
Thanks,
Preston
