I had another brand of 'Found On Road Dead' truck for years until my daughter totaled it for me here a couple months ago, and I had resigned my self to life sans a truck. Then I was over at a buddy's house trying to shoehorn a 350 into my son's Vega and my buddy told me about this '64 shortbed Fleetside project that he had a line on, if I was interested.

Well, I LOVE this body style - my dad had one just like it when I was in high school. I ended up buying it right and I've got it at the body shop now in a big pile of pieces. I've got a brand new crate 350 I found cheap, and picked up a '94 Z-28 T-56 6-speed I'm going to try to figure out how to put in it. I'm also trying to figure out power steering, a tilt wheel and disc brakes while I'm at it. Hopefully it will be a decent driver when it's done.

And I want to thank all you guys who work to keep this site up and running, and you members who provide all this great input! I have found a wealth of great information here so far, and I surely appreciate it!

Welcome to the 'Bolt, Bill!! It's great to have you aboard! And it's okay to like other brands -- I've come out of the closet!

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
