Uhh . . . hi, my, umm, name's Michael, and, uh, I . . . I own a Firebolt.

Or, er . . . two.

My first love is a 1941-ish Chevy/American Fire Apparatus tanker, ex. Rose City, MI. 400 gpm Barton pump on the front bumper, 500 gallon tank in the back, overhead ladder rack, hard suction on each side, single 3/4" booster reel, Sterling Model 20 6-volt siren. Appliances include: pry bar, Grether lanterns, 2 Indian Back Pack extinguishers, an original brass 21/2" nozzle, etc.

Engine rebuilt, waiting re-installation. Then, fire pump transmission will be rebuilt. Truck gone through. Target completion, March 25th. (Birthday!).

Number two is a 1951 Chevy/American Fire Apparatus pumper, ex. Athens, MI, Barton 500-gpm mid-ship mounted, Pressure/Capacity pump, twin 1" boosters with American built rewinds, Sterling siren, Federal Beacon, 2 4" hard suctions driver's side, 24' extension & 12' roof ladder on captain's side. Original 235 engine. Have run and driven truck, but it's now on jack-stands, awaiting total restore when the '41 is back on the road.

Non-Firebolts include a '69 Young Crusader pumper with a Waukesha 817 straight six & 1500 gpm pump, and a 1964 Open-cab Seagrave cab-forward, same Waukesha engine, not sure on pump. Motor on that one was just rebuilt from the bottom up - delivery in about a week. First running truck I've owned in over a year! Wahoo!!!

Howdy again Mike ! I'll have to stop by sometime next year and see your collection . Maybe you could bring one of your trucks to the Reunion in KC I should have mine there and John M said he might bring his if things work out . Oh, and I'm John and I, too, am a member of the Stovebolt Vol. Fire Department. I'm the engineer assigned to Tanker 51, a '65 GMC-Darley Tanker. It has a '45 Darley Champion F-Series 500 GPM pump, a rotating beacon and siren. And one booster reel (used to have two, but I took one out so I could use the compartment for storage).

And I just checked -- we have enough pictures for a regular-sized calendar but still need two for the big one (17 inches wide). Shall we do a small one AND a big one, just the small one or hold out for two more trucks and have a gloriously large format Firebolt calendar?

John - Where as I would love to have my truck in a calender this year I doubt that I will get any Calender quality pictures of it this year . If you have enough for a small one I say go with it and next year do the Large one . Now that we know that fire truck pictures will be needed maybe next year we can get a larger turn out givin the lead time . I would rather have my truck looking better for next years Large calender than how it looks now and maybe the SVFD will have a few more trucks come into the fold by then. ED H

John, haven't forgotten the logo - my "arteest" friend is said to be working on it. I'll see if I can put a fire under him (pun intended).
