Ok alot of you guys who like to restore trucks to there original condition will freak on this idea .
Has anybody done this, have they put the cab of a 46 coe truck on these isuzu f series truck ? To me they look like modern day coe trucks and have heard of people switching the cab on the frame?
If my intention is to make the truck run and look like a old coe is it wrong?

So do you think the main factor in switching the cab will be the width of the frame.

(1) Track width of the front tires.
(2) Location of the motor relative to the interior of the cab.
(3) Location of controls, such as steering.

These are the things I'd look at before choosing a frame. If you can figure out a solution for those issues anything else can probably be sorted out too.

There is a yahoo group for COE guys and at least one member there has bought an Isuzu and then rejected it because it would not work for him.

There was a guy a few weeks back on Ebay, selling his Chevy COE wrecker on an Isuzu chassis. Search Ebay for the eneded auction then contact him.
