I would think that a 600 cfm would be about right but was wanting input on what others have or are using. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 581 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 581 | My GMC 302 has a 400 CFM Carter AFB. I have a clifford 4bbl intake with a holley 390cfm carb on my 54 235 thats in my 52 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup. As recommended by clifford I made some changes to the carb. So far so good, have yet to get it on the road but I have no doubts that it will do just fine. Just needs a bit of tuning yet. | | | | | Joined: May 2008 Posts: 66 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2008 Posts: 66 | its a 235 but the later model 58-62. plus i am running a t-5 with an s-10 rear end-. so i am trying to get a little more performance-thought about the dual carb set-up but i like what i saw on youtube with the 4 barrel | | | | | Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 230 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 230 | my old man run,s a 4360 holly it's 450 cfm on his 1940 1/2 ton w-235 and clifford intake fenton header's water heated carb spacer ,it work's great . (VE x RPM x CID / 3456) How fast will your 235 spin? How efficient is you cylinder head and intake? How aggressive is the cam? That's probably why everyone is reporting good results with the 390 - 450 size carbs

Clifford's site suggests a minimum of 350 cfm and they sell a 390 cfm Holley for that intake (or, a Weber 38 - 390/400 cfm).
