Would some one please help me with a few simple measurements? I have cut out my firewall and floor from an old rusted out 51 chevy short box 3100 and made a new one with new braces under the new floor, not quite the same as original, I feel the braces are thicker and increasing the cab height. Now 7 years later I have forgotten what the original floor looked like, and now back in the saddle working on the truck again. I would appriciate if someone could give me a few measurements from the front cab mount bracket to the bottom of the floor, (flat floor). Also the rear mount area floor to the top of the frame, and the top of the running board inside lip to the bottom of the rocker panel. This would be greatly appriciated.

Floor panel cross support to frame rail at rear = 49/64” – 53/64” (.765”-.828”)


Bottom of floor to top of frame at front mount location = 1 53/64” to 1 57/64” (1.828” – 1.890”)


Use your frame as a jig for the other dimensions and make sure the pedal’s won’t rub. There is no set dimension for running board to rocker as a rubber “skirt” hangs down from the rocker to fill the gap. The paint and body forum are your best bet for these questions. Try the search feature for “floor replacement”, “patch panels” or ”cab mounting”.
