I want to fill the wheel well. I was thinking maybe 8 inch in the front. for those running a mustang II (heidts) what size rim / wheel are you using? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 125 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 125 | It get pretty complicated figuring out wheel sizes. 'Specially when you're using big 'ole 17's. You nedd to measure your actual car at both sides lock to determine how big you can go. I have seen special measuring tools just for this. They bolt to your discs and allow you to scoot arms to and fro to see what will clear what. You could probably rig something up to do the same thing without too much hassle.

The tyre clearance to the guard and the pickup box is 3/8 inch. Tyre size is 235 x 65 x 17 or 9 1/2 inches wide with a 2 1/2 inch wall height. If you were to run a wider rim you may have to do a few modifications to either the guard or the pick up box side. Fronts are 17 x 7 with a 3 1/2 backspace offset without power assistance, at slow speeds the steering is a bit heavy. If you went to 8 inch without power assistance you may need a gym membership. Also if you have stainless steel arms these are 3/4 inch narrower than steel ones beware | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 381 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 381 | You'll have no problems with the front wheels and tires on the MII front end if you run 205/75/15 tires on either 15x7 or 15 x6 rims. With either rim you want no more than 4" backset. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 1,859 Grumpy old guy playing with trucks, cars, and boats | | Grumpy old guy playing with trucks, cars, and boats Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 1,859 | That would be because the M2 front end was intended for cars with wee little 165/65/13 tires
