The only way I know would be to use an aftermarket remote filter unit. These are available from Summit, JEG'S, etc. There is agreat tech tip article on the Inliners site about switching a 235-261 to this. Just do a search on full flow fiter and you'll find it.

Hint: If you do convert the setup hold on to your original parts as you may someday wish to use them again.

If you convert to a spin-on filter, be sure to use the right one. Your engine probably has a bypass-type filter that has a very slow rate of flow. If you use a full-flow type filter you'll kill your oil pressure. There are a few spin-on filters for bypass systems with a small outlet orfice to maintain oil pressure. I have such a system on a 1961 American Motors Rambler flathead 6-cylinder. A filter such as this would work, as long as you use an adapter with the correct thread. Another option would be to use a return line with a restrictor bushing to control oil flow through a more conventional type of spin-on filter.

i think filters for fords have bypass valves.

i think a full flow oil conversion with a spin-on filter with a bypass value would bt the best setup. but that is not a simple bolt on procedure.

I use an Amsoil bypass with a manifold mount spin on. The unit has a restrictor the size of a pinhole but I get about 1 quart per minute of flow at idle without any significant pressure loss. Here's a few pic's and a link to the Amsoil parts page.

I have a 235 and i removed the original bhive filter assembly and went with a remote oil filter mount from Moroso. I pieced everything together without doing much research. Everything seemed ok until i got the motor running this past weekend and i don't have any oil coming out of the rocker arm assemble on the head. I did hook up an external oil pressure guage and at idle i have about 15lbs of pressure and with increased rpm, i have about 25 to 30 lbs of pressure. Is this the correct amount of pressure? Do i need a restrictor to increase the pressure? Will increased pressure ensure the propper oiling of the top of the motor? Sorry to post all this in this thread but I am a new user and cant find the link to post a new message. All answers are greatly appreciated.

Jackson.
