The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop Clutch ID??

Okay, I've wound up with a couple of pressure plates off of some large truck, and I'm trying to figure out what they go to. At least one is a new unit. The tag on it is Lipe Corperation, model 330-16 1928. The clutch disc is 13" overall, with a 7.25" ID on the facing. It has a 10 spline, 1.5" center. The pressure plate has 12 mounting holes, on both 14.25", and 14.75" bolt circles (there are 2 complete set of holes) The throwout I have on one uses an adjusting nut on the shaft connecting it to the pressure plate, and it has 2 pegs on the sides, so it looks like it uses a rotating fork, not the pivioting kind. I was thinking that it might be for a later 60's 2-2.5 ton chevy diesel, but I'm not sure. Anyone have any ideas? Does anyone have any idea where I could look up the lipe number? I'm told they're not in buisness anymore, but there should still be references to them somewhere. I've also heard that it may be for a tractor, what do you guys think. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

hello bigjohn83. i had gone to a local auto parts store,[this supplier has a complete line and is not limited like some of the national chains are], and they were able to identify clutch discs by the dimensions.if you have a store near you that supplies commercial fleets, they might be able to i.d. your discs by using the dimensions. hope this helps. good luck.

Any ideas where?? Do yall think napa would be able to do it? Thanks for the info.

Okay, I called a big clutch place in sacramento today, and all they could say is that it's a pretty much generic 13" clutch, but he said that it should fit 50-60 gm mediumm duty trucks, so I guess I was actually right. Anyone need a new clutch??
