The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop Scratch removal

I thought I was being smart by removing a couple of door scuffs on my truck with a green scracher and some water. Good news is it worked very well but it left scratches and dullness in the paint. I've tried a couple of the different scratch removal products and even tried my buffer. What else can I do?

I would recomend wet sanding with ultra fine sandpaper like a 2000 or finer grit and polishing with a medium rubbing compound,preferably machine polishing.
Once you eliminate the scratches,move to a finer polish,and finish with a good glaze like Meguiers.
Depending on the color of the paint(use extreme caution when sandin metallic colors)you should be able to make it look like new.
