I found this in the chassis area of classicparts.com what is it and where does it belong?
My truck is still in the take apart stage and I have never heard of it before.

It goes between the leaves of the springs. It works as an anti-friction between the leaves to make for a smoother ride. I have it installed on mine, the ride isn't too bad.

Thanks for the reply. My springs are still holding up the frame & cab. I will keep it in mind I hope to be that far round this time next year....

well be careful springs work on friction if they cycle to fast things break , and will bend easier .i know my old mad had it in his 40 1/2 ton (he worked it )he ended up pulling it out ,they keep wanting to work there way out the sides .believe it or not it affected how much he could haul !!!!!!!! just our experience and spring shop experience .

This one has a lip on both sides to keep it in place. It made my truck ride a whole lot better. Joe

Yes, if you use it, get the stuff with the lip. That prevents it from coming out of the springs.

we had the stuff with the lip and it still fanned out the sides !
