I searched the forum looking for a book or manual on rebuilding a 235 and couldn't find anything.

Does anyone know of good reference dedicated to rebuilding a 235?

Guys, the latest issue of Auto Restorer magazine featured a six-part series on the 235. Should be available from the publisher http://www.autorestorermagazine.com/ar/ The series began with the January 05 issue and back issues are available.

I got my dad a subscription years ago, and he really likes it. It is a simple black and white publication, but almost as good as the 'bolt for tech tips.

Those articles in Auto Restorer (on hopping/souping up a 235/261 for higher performance) were well-wrtten and very interesting.

Auto Restorer magazine used to be called Classic Auto Restorer magazine and here is a link to an engine rebuild article that was published in 1995 and now found in the Tech Section of ChevyTrucks.org.

As red58 advised, you will still need a Shop Manual (for the year of your engine) in order to do a rebuild. These manuals are readily available from most parts vendors in the links section of this site (and are regularly for sale on eBay).
