Hello,

I have looked and searched thru the bolt search engine, and the tech tip section, but cannot find an information about casting numbers for GM transmissions. I would like to find out the year and the difference between the two I have. Any help would be appreciated.

OK, what mo2cyl is wanting to know is are there any books or written resources for GM trannys. I do not know of any but if you do then please respond to mo2cyl.

Hve you tried a google search, something like GM Manual transmission, 3 speed. You'll get a lot of hits but I've found that the hits for transmission rebuilders will usually have pictures or good descriptions of the transmissions they work on.

I know when I was looking for information on a Muncie 4 speed, a couple of site i hit had casting information and pictures along with gear ratios and which vehicles they came in originally.
