I'm a retired GI thats attending the auto mechancis class at my local community tech college. I'm rebuilding the 235 engine in my 59 Chev 1/2 ton. The crank is out of tolerance. But that's easy, I'm sending that to be ground. But the cam lobes are worn and starting to pit on the edges. I called the supplier my instructor usually uses. They can get me a new cam, but it doesn't come with the followers or lifters. The guy said they haven't made those lifters in about 5 years. Could anyone recommend a trusted and good quality source of a new cam with followers and lifters? | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 166 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2006 Posts: 166 | I got my cam from http://www.patricksantiquecars.com/Phil is the owner's son I believe and he is very enthusiatic about inline 6 engines. I have found that everyone has their opinion and he is no different, but he did not steer me wrong. | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 |

The early power glide cams seemed to offer a little more power than those in the trucks. Using a solid lifter with a hydralic cam shouldn't present any problems, I wouldn't go the other way around though. Does Patrick's offer stock cams besides the performace cams they sell? Denny G
