I did all of my conversions at one time so, determining which was the money best spent, I'm not sure. I'm only getting about 15 mpg but I'm still tweaking on it. Probably my favorite upgrade was the HEI I like getting in and it starting right up, no grinding away to start!! You can't go wrong with Longdon's stuff give him a call he's extremely informative. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 | I've been running a dual Carter/Weber setup on my 235 for the past 7000 miles......eliminated all of the issues with the stock Rochesters. My fuel mileage hovers around 18....the E10 fuels put an end to my visions of 20+.
As for "performance".....if you mean "kick-in-the-pants" type stuff you might be disappointed. However, getting a clean burn on all cylinders, decent mileage, and the "WOW" factors at all the shows from folks that have a history with the Chevy 6.....priceless!!!!!

However I am also using an overdrive 700R4 tranny which works out just fine.Way too many people on this site thinking that carberation is the answer to fuel economy.First things first, check to see what rearend gears you are running.Get that gearing up to about 3:42 or even 3:08,and you will see a big difference. | | |
