| | | | Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 18 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 18 | Took my panel apart today to clean it and found the clear plastic face has an old decal applied in the spot for the tach ( not equipped on my truck )
The decal is a mylar type material about an 1 1/2" square.One corner was away from the cover so I tried to peel it back and the corner snapped off . Being very old, it is brittle. What is a good way to remove it it? Didn't want to use a chemical that would possibly eat into the plastic. Any ideas?????

If it is not, wait for a better reply. If it is I would gently try to scrape it off. Then using a sanding paper (depending on scratches, yellowing or cloudiness) use anywhere from a 400 grit max (your particular problem would dictate what grit to start with) up to a 12,000 grit sand paper (Micro-mesh kit for plastic refinishing can be found on-line) and with a little elbow grease you should end up with a pristine finish. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 18 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 18 | The plastic is in good shape, not cracked crazed or yellow.There must be a way.
