I can't seem to find any major parts outlet that can get me one. I can get a 168 tooth ring cheap, though, so I'm thinking about putting a later starter in. Is it possible to convert the starter for the 139 tooth gear to 168 tooth? Anyone know where I can get a 139 tooth gear relatively cheaply? Thanks a bunch, fellows. | | |

I did that with my 1955 235 ring gear, not sure how many teeth, no problems after a few years. I kind of think that the gear has chamfered teeth on one side and not on the back, it id not seem to matter when I turned mine over, works great. | | |
