For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 | Today I lost a wheel bearing on my truck and fear the worst. The outer brearing is gone and I was unable to get the spindle nut off along the road. So IF the spindle or hub needs to be replaced does anyone know of a good source for these? I checked LMC and they don't have them listed. It is a 53' 3100. Thanks y'all. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | You will most likely have to look for a used one. Several years ago, I bought two NOS (New Old Stock) spindles (steering knuckles) off eBay.
I think that 1951-1957 (maybe later ?) 1/2 ton knuckles/spindles are the same (left and right).

It now turns out that the king pin replacement parts that came with the truck when I bought it are the wrong ones so here we go again. It's Sullivan's Law... you know Sullivan, he's the guy that said Murphy was an optimist. My wife is still hinting at power steering so who knows where this deal will end...Se L' Vie. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 595 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 595 | | | |
